What you should know about shirts before you choose a design or shirt for your project. Some garments are better quality than others. More expensive shirts are not always the best value. A less expensive brand may work best for shirts that are only worn for one occasion but associating your name with cheap craftsmanship is never a good idea. Color is also important because you need to have a contrast for your print to be seen. Always choose colors with good contrast for the best results.
Another thing to consider is how the shirt fits. We’re constantly searching for manufactures whose aesthetic, methods and values align with our own, and we’re excited to introduce another fitted brand, Next Level. Like all fitted shirts, these look best on people who wear sizes up to XL. Consider using brands like Gilden for 2X and above.
DTG vs Screen Printing
Direct to Garment (DTG) and screen printing are among the most popular options for printed apparel. Direct to Garment (DTG) is a method where a printer directly applies the ink onto the t-shirt with inkjet technology which prints the ink directly onto the garment in the desired design. DTG uses specialty inks, which are absorbed by the fibers of the garment.
Because of the technique of screen printing, only one color can be applied at a time. Each color uses another screen and takes more time. Therefore this option is often more expensive for orders with low quantities. Screen printing is a good choice for simple designs, one solid color, and when you purchase large orders of the same design at a time.
